The year 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’, Pope’s Francis’ encyclical subtitled "On Care for Our Common Home". In it, the Pope calls all people of the world to take "swift and unified global action" to protect God’s creation, while lamenting the destruction of nature and climate, and criticising irresponsible economic development and the culture of consumerism.
To mark the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’, CRA has launched the “10,000 for 10” initiative to encourage CRA members to plant and/or protect 10,000 trees.
If you cannot plant a tree, you can protect one or make a donation to a not-for-profit organisation focused on regenerative projects. Read our Frequently Asked Questions (below) for more information.
We hope that you will join us in this exciting challenge and invite you to access the resources made available through this webpage.
We also encourage you to let us know actions you take through the 10000 for 10 initiative by clicking on the tile below titled Report Your Progress.
We extend our thanks to the National Ecology Alliance Committee Co-Chairs, Sue Martin and Sally Neaves, for being the inspiration behind this initiative, as well Frances Macguire RSJ and Margie Abbott RSM for their tree rituals.
