CRA will host a conversation with scholar Phyllis Zagano, who has just published a new book, Women Religious, Women Deacons: Questions & Answers (Paulist Press, 2022), exploring what ordaining women as Deacons would mean for Catholic Religious Sisters. Dr Zagano was one of twelve scholars appointed by Pope Francis to the Commission to Study the Diaconate of Women in 2016.

Dr Phyllis Zagano

Phyllis Zagano is an internationally acclaimed Catholic scholar and lecturer on contemporary spirituality and women's issues in the church. She has multiple award-winning books which have been widely translated. Winner of two Fulbright awards, her biographical listings include Marquis Who's Who. Her professional papers are held by the Women in Leadership Archives, Loyola University, Chicago. She holds a research appointment at Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York.
