Catholic Religious Australia (CRA) mourns the death, destruction and pain caused by the current violence in the Middle East.

Recognising the long and complicated histories of the conflict, CRA calls for the end of the targeting, terrorising, and killing, a violation of our gospel values. CRA urgently calls for a return of hostages, the provision of robust humanitarian aid and an immediate ceasefire.

CRA joins with Pope Francis in raising the cry for peace as he says, "Let the attacks and weapons stop, please, and understand that terrorism and war lead to no solution, but only to the death and suffering of many innocent people. War is a defeat: every war is a defeat!"
