Catholic Religious gather to pray for the people of Burma/Myanmar

CRA held a prayer service in response to the call of the Church in Myanmar for faith leaders to pray for peace, justice and interethnic, interfaith reconciliation in Myanmar.

It was timed to closely follow the U.N. International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief (held last Sunday, 22 August).

CRA marked the occasion with a Prayer Service for the people of Burma/Myanmar. The situation in Burma/Myanmar has exploded since the military seized control of the country in February 2021.

Our gathering on 24 August 2021 was inspired by the recent joint interfaith statement on the crisis in Myanmar (3 June 2021), signed by Australian religious congregations and justice groups.
